Financial advice and wealth management that’s all about you
Why professional standards matter
Like lawyers, doctors, or CPAs, financial planners work in a complex field that can have dramatic consequences for our clients. It’s only responsible to ensure that we offer clients the education and experience to make sure those consequences are positive and professional.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals are trained and experienced
All Marshall planners are CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioners. The CFP® certification is a multi-year program that begins with extensive education in financial planning, including investments, tax planning, retirement planning, wealth management, pensions, and more. CFP® candidates must then both demonstrate proficiency on the extensive examination and spend 2-3 years in the industry under the supervision of a CFP® professional, learning the practical realities before achieving the certification.
High ethical standards are part of the standard
CFP® certificants are also required to conduct business as fiduciaries —putting the client’s best interests ahead of our own at all times. We are held to high standards of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence, as outlined in the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics.
Marshall Financial Group founder Bill Marshall was an early advocate for the establishment of high professional standards, and was one of the first 100 people certified in the US, nearly 30 years ago.
Independent Financial Planners
Independent financial advisors are not tied to the services and products of a single financial services company. We can choose any financial vehicle that works best for you, and that is our only job. Because you pay us directly, we’re at your service and yours only. This is the way it should be, and it’s the way it always will be at Marshall.
